Judith August, Founder Judith August Cosmetics, recently spent some time with Alana Lee, Miss Nevada 2011.  She asked Alana about her Miss Nevada experience and how she looks so good on and off the stage.

Judith:  Did you do your own make-up for the evening?

Alana: I did. I have a wonderful friend named Kelli Miller who has taught me everything I know about make-up. It’s priceless knowledge but the actual make-up comes with a price tag unfortunately! Thank goodness for sponsors who continue to help me afford these expenses.

Karrah is a beautiful girl before & after. This goes to show the polish and finishing touches a professional touch can make.

If you noticed from the photos Karrah didn't grow part of her eyebrow past her arch. As you can see I was able to create the other missing part of her eyebrow without having her look as if she had drawn on eyebrows. We were both very happy with the end result.

Road Trip: Attending Miss America!

Going to Miss America tomorrow with my Mom Barbara Reynolds Calaway & Cheyenne Mellor to cheer for my good friend and client Miss Nevada Alana Lee!! I am so excited to attend! Everyone can watch the pagent tomorrow on ABC.

Thanks to Nevada Senator John Jay Lee (Alana Lee's Dad) for giving us girls tickets! What a great family!

My new favorite updo! Anyone who knows me knows that I love beautiful braided hair! Specially when I have second day and but want a cute updo. Braiding hair on second day hair is the best! On many wedding hair updo's I will dirty up the hair first with dry shampoo or schwartzcraft dust powder. So when Courtney Greene taught a class on Wedding & Prom hair I fell in love with this one. Working the New years in Vegas we introduced Bobbi Browns new collection for Spring 2012. Neon is the hot new color for Spring 2012. We sold out quick of the neon pink and orange lipstick. It was a great event to work on during the holidays with lots of energy & people ready to party!

Featuring an irreplaceable compilation of neon colors that are balanced by soft nudes, the well-known make up stylist Bobbi Brown mentioned about her latest Spring 2012 Neons & Nudes collection, saying “The most modern way to wear bright color is as an accent on an otherwise neutral face”

I loved this whole collection!! The light blushes are a must, the new felt eye liner was everything you would want a liquid liner to be. The nudes eye pallete is a must have for everyday!

Miss Nevada Alana Lee's Trunk Show

I was hired to do the hair and makeup for Miss Nevada's Trunk Show. She waited to touch up her roots and color her hair until a week before Miss America. Last week we cut and colored her hair these photos are just a few of the final event. I didn't want to show her Miss America wardrobe until after Miss America. Watch on ABC this week!!
